Amy Poehler is an American actress, comedian, writer, producer, and director. She is best known for her time as a cast member on the NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live from 2001 to 2008, and for starring as Leslie Knope in the highly acclaimed NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation from 2009 to 2015.
Throughout her career, she has been a prominent figure in improvisational and sketch comedy, notably as a founding member of the Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) comedy troupe and theater. She has also co-hosted the Golden Globe Awards multiple times with fellow comedian and friend Tina Fey.
