Daniel James Seavey is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer.

He was born on April 2, 1999, in Vancouver, Washington, U.S. He first gained national attention as a contestant on the fourteenth season of American Idol in 2015, where he placed in the Top 9.

Seavey later rose to prominence as a founding member of the boy band Why Don't We (WDW), which was active from 2016 until their hiatus in 2022. WDW released five extended plays and two albums, both of which reached the top 10 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Following the group's hiatus, Daniel Seavey began his solo career in 2022. His music has been described as pop, pop rock, and rock, often with an alternative pop influence. His debut solo EP, Dancing in the Dark, was released in 2023, and his full-length debut album, Second Wind, arrived in 2025.

He is a multi-instrumentalist and his parents are Keri Seavey and Jeffrey Seavey, a Christian church pastor.
