DDG is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, online streamer, and YouTuber whose birth name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr. He was born on October 10, 1997, in Pontiac, Michigan. DDG first gained popularity as a content creator on YouTube, where he started making videos in 2014, including vlogs, pranks, and comedy. He briefly attended Central Michigan University before dropping out to focus on his growing YouTube career.
He transitioned into music, signing with Epic Records in 2018. His music genres include trap, pop rap, and Midwestern hip-hop. His breakthrough hit was the 2020 single "Moonwalking in Calabasas" (remixed featuring Blueface), which earned platinum status and entered the Billboard Hot 100.
