Garance Doré, born Mariline Fiori on May 1, 1975, in Corsica, France, is a renowned French photographer, illustrator, author, and former fashion blogger. She began her career as a freelance illustrator in Marseille, contributing to press and children's books, before launching her influential blog in 2006. Moving to Paris in 2007, she pioneered street-style photography by capturing candid images of locals, which quickly gained her international acclaim and collaborations with luxury brands like Chloé, Dolce & Gabbana, Louis Vuitton, and Tiffany & Co.
Doré's blog, originally focused on fashion and later evolving into the lifestyle site Atelier Doré (atelierdore.com), amassed a massive following for its witty, personal voice blending illustrations, photography, and storytelling. In 2012, she and her then-partner, photographer Scott Schuman of The Sartorialist, received the Council of Fashion Designers of America Media Award. Her debut book, Love Style Life, became a New York Times bestseller in 2015, the same year she stepped back from the fashion industry to pursue broader creative endeavors.
Today, Doré continues to share her insights through writing and drawing on platforms like her Substack newsletter, The French Woman by Garance Doré, where she explores personal growth, style, and culture. She is also a co-founder of Doré, a minimalist French skincare line emphasizing effortless beauty. Known for her authentic, oversharing style, Doré remains a trailblazer in digital storytelling and self-expression.
