Hailee Puring Steinfeld is an American actress and singer born on December 11, 1996, in Los Angeles, California.

She had her career breakthrough with the western film True Grit (2010), which earned her an Academy Award nomination. She has since gained wider recognition for roles in the Pitch Perfect film series (2015–2017) and The Edge of Seventeen (2016), which earned her a Golden Globe nomination. Steinfeld has also starred in films like Bumblebee and provided the voice for Gwen Stacy/Spider-Woman in the animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and its sequel. On television, she has portrayed Emily Dickinson in the series Dickinson and Kate Bishop in the Marvel Cinematic Universe series Hawkeye.

As a singer, she signed with Republic Records and released her debut single, "Love Myself," followed by the extended plays Haiz (2015) and Half Written Story (2020). Her notable singles also include "Starving," "Most Girls," and "Let Me Go."

Her parents are Peter Steinfeld and Cheri Steinfeld, and she has one older brother, Griffin Steinfeld. She is married to Josh Allen, a professional football player.
