Kehlani Ashley Parrish is an American singer, songwriter, and dancer, born on April 24, 1995, in Oakland, California.
Kehlani first gained fame as a member and lead vocalist of the teen pop group PopLyfe, which was a finalist on the sixth season of America's Got Talent in 2011. Following her time with the group, she embarked on a solo career.
Her discography includes the commercial mixtapes Cloud 19 (2014) and You Should Be Here (2015), the latter of which was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Urban Contemporary Album. She released her debut studio album, SweetSexySavage, in 2017, followed by It Was Good Until It Wasn't (2020) and Blue Water Road (2022). Kehlani has collaborated with numerous artists and is signed to Atlantic Records.
She attended the Oakland School for the Arts, where she initially focused on dance before a knee injury led her to concentrate on singing. She was adopted and raised by her aunt.
Kehlani has been active since 2009.
