Lisa Ann Walter is an American actress, comedian, writer, and television producer.
She is widely recognized for her main roles as:
Melissa Schemmenti on the Peabody Award-winning ABC mockumentary sitcom Abbott Elementary (2021–present), for which she won a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series in 2023.
Chessy the housekeeper in the 1998 romantic comedy film The Parent Trap.
Her career includes five years as a national touring stand-up comedy headliner. Her other notable film roles include Bobbie in Shall We Dance?, Debbie in Bruce Almighty, and Sheryl in War of the Worlds. On television, she has co-created, produced, and starred in several network sitcoms, including Fox's My Wildest Dreams and ABC's Life's Work, and has been a recurring guest on shows like Grey's Anatomy and GLOW. She is also the creator, executive producer, and head judge of the competition series Dance Your Ass Off.
