Country: United States Mackenyu Arata (known professionally as Mackenyu) is a Japanese-American actor who has become a major star in both live-action anime adaptations and international productions. Born in Los Angeles in 1996, he is the son of the legendary martial arts actor and filmmaker Sonny Chiba.
Mackenyu gained widespread international fame for his breakout role as Roronoa Zoro in Netflix's live-action "One Piece" series. Highly skilled in martial arts, horseback riding, and sword fighting, he performs many of his own stunts. His other notable projects include roles in the "Chihayafuru" trilogy, "Rurouni Kenshin: The Final," "Knights of the Zodiac," and "Pacific Rim: Uprising."
