Sam Worthington is an English-born Australian actor best known for his leading role as Jake Sully in James Cameron’s Avatar franchise.
Born in 1976, he worked as a bricklayer in Australia before auditioning for the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) on a whim. He gained early critical acclaim in Australia for the 2004 indie film Somersault, which earned him the AFI Award for Best Lead Actor.
