Tori Kelly (born Victoria Loren Kelly) is an American singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist who blends pop, R&B, soul, and gospel influences.
She first gained widespread recognition as a teenager by posting acoustic song covers on YouTube, following an appearance on the ninth season of American Idol in 2010. Deciding to pursue music independently, she wrote, produced, and recorded her debut EP, Handmade Songs, from her bedroom in 2012.
Her mainstream breakthrough arrived with her 2015 debut studio album, Unbreakable Smile, which peaked at number two on the Billboard 200. Known for her powerful vocal range and heartfelt songwriting, she has since achieved significant critical success, earning three Grammy Awards overall—including Best Gospel Album and Best Gospel Performance/Song for her 2018 project, Hiding Place. Outside of her discography, she is also well-known for voicing Meena the elephant in the animated Sing movie franchise.
