Club América

Club de Fútbol América, commonly known as Club América or Las Águilas (The Eagles), is a professional football club based in Mexico City. Founded in 1916, it competes in Liga MX, the top division of Mexican football. The club is one of the most successful and popular teams in Mexico, holding a record number of domestic and international titles for a CONCACAF club, including a record sixteen league titles. América plays its home games at the Estadio Azteca. It maintains a fierce, long-standing rivalry with Guadalajara, with matches between the two known as El Súper Clásico. The club has been owned by the mass media company Televisa since 1959.
