Colorado Rockies
The Colorado Rockies are a professional baseball team based in Denver, Colorado. They compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the National League (NL) West division.
The team began play in 1993 as an expansion franchise. They play their home games at Coors Field, which is renowned for its high altitude and thin air, often resulting in higher-scoring games. The team's name and logo are inspired by the Rocky Mountains that dominate the state's western landscape.
Since their inception, the Rockies have reached the postseason several times, generally as a Wild Card team. Their most successful season was in 2007, when they made a remarkable late-season run to win the NL pennant, advancing to the World Series where they were swept by the Boston Red Sox.
