FC Bayern Munich

Fussball-Club Bayern München e.V., commonly known as FC Bayern Munich or simply Bayern, is a German professional sports club based in Munich, Bavaria. It is best known for its professional football team, which competes in the Bundesliga, the top tier of the German football league system.

FC Bayern is the most successful club in German football history, holding the record for the most national titles (over 30) and the most domestic cups (DFB-Pokal). They have also achieved immense international success, having won the UEFA Champions League/European Cup six times, including three consecutive titles from 1974 to 1976. Bayern is one of only two European clubs to have won the "sextuple" (winning six major trophies in a single calendar year), which they accomplished in 2020.

The club was founded in 1900. Their home stadium is the Allianz Arena, an iconic venue in Munich. Historically, their period of greatest success began in the 1970s, featuring legendary players like Franz Beckenbauer, Gerd Müller, and Sepp Maier. They maintain intense rivalries, most notably with Borussia Dortmund (known as Der Klassiker) and local rivals TSV 1860 Munich.
