Green Day

Green Day is an influential American rock band known for popularizing the punk rock sound in the mainstream, particularly through their unique blend of high-energy music, catchy melodies, and emotionally resonant lyrics.

The band was formed in 1987 in California and consists of three core members: Billie Joe Armstrong (lead vocals and guitar), Mike Dirnt (bass), and Tré Cool (drums).

They started in the independent punk scene and gained massive commercial success with their 1994 album, Dookie, which featured hit songs like "Basket Case" and "When I Come Around." They are known for their fast-paced, guitar-driven sound, often categorized as pop-punk or alternative rock.

In 2004, they released the critically acclaimed rock opera American Idiot, a politically charged album that broadened their creative scope and introduced them to a new generation of fans with massive hits such as the title track and "Boulevard of Broken Dreams."

Green Day is celebrated for their energetic live performances, rebellious spirit, and enduring legacy in rock music.
