Jin Akanishi
Occupation: MusicianJin Akanishi (born July 4, 1984) is a Japanese musician, singer, songwriter, and actor.
He began his career in 1998 and was one of the two lead vocalists of the J-pop boy-band KAT-TUN before starting a solo career in 2009. KAT-TUN debuted in 2006.
As a solo artist, he has released numerous albums and singles, including the debut U.S. single "**Test Drive**" featuring Jason Derulo. His first solo album, ***JAPONICANA***, was simultaneously released in Japan and the U.S. in 2012. He has received awards in Asia such as "The Most popular Artist in Asia" and "Music of the year award" at the Beijing "2016 Starry Nights!" and "BEST MALE ARTIST" at the 5th Vchart Awards 2017. He has also worked as a songwriter for KAT-TUN and his solo career.
In addition to music, Akanishi has acted in films and dramas, including roles in the drama Gokusen 2 and the film 47 Ronin (2013).
