Adam Douglas Driver (born November 19, 1983) is an American actor. Known for his versatility and intense performances, he first gained prominence for his role as the emotionally unstable Adam Sackler in the HBO series Girls (2012–2017), which earned him three consecutive Primetime Emmy Award nominations. Driver achieved worldwide recognition for portraying the villain Kylo Ren in the Star Wars sequel trilogy (2015–2019). He has received critical acclaim and two Academy Award nominations for his work in films: Best Supporting Actor for BlacKkKlansman (2018) and Best Actor for Marriage Story (2019). His other notable film roles include Lincoln (2012), Inside Llewyn Davis (2013), Paterson (2016), Silence (2016), and House of Gucci (2021). Prior to his acting career, Driver served in the United States Marine Corps. He is also the founder of Arts in the Armed Forces, a non-profit organization that provides free arts programming to military communities.
