Alex Morgan (full name Alexandra Patricia Morgan) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a forward for the San Diego Wave of the National Women's Soccer League and the United States women's national soccer team.

Born on July 2, 1989, in San Dimas, California, she is known for her speed and strength, making her one of the leading scorers in the sport. She has won multiple major international titles, including two FIFA Women's World Cups (2015 and 2019) and an Olympic gold medal (2012).

Morgan began playing club soccer at age 14 and attended the University of California, Berkeley. She was the first overall pick in the 2011 Women's Professional Soccer draft. In addition to her soccer career, she is an author of a book series for young readers called The Kicks and a memoir titled Breakaway: Beyond the Goal. She has also been an advocate for gender equality in sports.
