Amiyah Scott is an American actress, model, author, dancer, and LGBTQ advocate. She is best known for her role as Cotton on the Fox television series Star (2016–2019), which made her the first transgender actress to play a transgender character as a series regular on a major network television show.

Born on January 11, 1988, in Manhattan, New York, and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, she gained early popularity as an internet celebrity and a respected figure in the LGBT ballroom community. In 2015, she was briefly associated with the reality show The Real Housewives of Atlanta, becoming the first transgender woman cast in the Real Housewives franchise, although her scenes ultimately did not air due to creative differences with the producers.

Beyond acting, Scott is a motivational speaker and activist who focuses on giving a voice to transgender women, particularly women of color, and speaking on themes of bullying, self-esteem, and acceptance. She is the founder of the non-profit organization Trans Empowerment of America (TEA) and published her memoir, Memoirs of a Mermaid, in 2019. She has also been a guest judge on the TV show Legendary and has her own beauty line, Amiyah Beauty.
