Billie Piper is an English actress and former pop singer. She first rose to fame in the late 1990s as a teenage pop star, becoming the youngest artist to debut at number one on the UK Singles Chart with her 1998 single "Because We Want To." She later transitioned into an acclaimed acting career. Her most famous television roles include Rose Tyler, the companion to the Doctor in the revived science fiction series Doctor Who (2005–2006, with later returns), and the titular high-class escort in the drama series Secret Diary of a Call Girl (2007–2011). She is also highly regarded for her stage work, winning a Laurence Olivier Award for her performance in the play Yerma (2016). More recently, she co-created, wrote, and starred in the critically praised black comedy series I Hate Suzie (2020–2022).
