Dua Lipa is a British-Albanian singer, songwriter, and actress. Born in London in 1995 to Kosovar Albanian parents, she is known for her distinctive voice and pop music that often blends disco, dance-pop, and nu-disco influences. She began her career by posting covers of songs on YouTube before signing with Warner Bros. Records in 2014.
Her self-titled debut album in 2017 featured the worldwide hit "New Rules," which became a UK number-one single. Her second album, Future Nostalgia (2020), achieved massive critical and commercial success, spawning hit singles like "Don't Start Now" and "Levitating," and winning the Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album.
