Calum Thomas Hood is an Australian musician, widely known as the bassist and a vocalist of the pop rock band 5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS).

* Background and Early Career: He was born on January 25, 1996, in Mount Druitt, New South Wales, Australia. He has a sister, Mali-Koa Hood, who is also a singer-songwriter. He has Scottish descent through his father, David Hood, and Māori descent through his mother, Joy Hood. He attended Norwest Primary School and Norwest Christian College, where he befriended future bandmates Michael Clifford and Luke Hemmings. Before focusing on music, he had a strong interest in sports, particularly football (soccer), which he gave up to pursue music after the band formed and moved to London in late 2012.

* 5 Seconds of Summer: The band formed in 2011 with Hood, Hemmings, Clifford, and later Ashton Irwin. They initially gained popularity by posting song covers on YouTube. Since 2014, 5 Seconds of Summer has achieved massive success, selling millions of albums and concert tickets worldwide, and their music streams surpass seven billion. The band has released five studio albums, including 5 Seconds of Summer (2014), Sounds Good Feels Good (2015), Youngblood (2018), Calm (2020), and 5SOS5 (2022).

* Solo Work: Hood is also a successful songwriter and solo artist. On April 11, 2025, he announced his debut solo album, "Order Chaos Order" which was released on June 13, 2025, through EMI Music Australia. The lead single was "Don't Forget You Love Me."
