Chad Javon Johnson is an American former professional football player who was a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL) for 11 seasons.

He was born on January 9, 1978, in Miami, Florida. He played college football for the Oregon State Beavers and was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the second round of the 2001 NFL Draft. He played for the Bengals for 10 seasons (2001–2010) and later played for the New England Patriots (2011). He also played in the Canadian Football League (CFL) for the Montreal Alouettes.

Johnson was a highly productive wide receiver in the 2000s, earning six Pro Bowl selections and being named to three First-team All-Pro teams. He led the NFL in receiving yards in 2006.

From 2008 to 2012, he was legally known as Chad Ochocinco, a name change he adopted because his jersey number was 85, which is "ocho cinco" in Spanish. He was known for his colorful personality, trash talk, and creative end zone celebrations.
