🧑💻 David Baszucki: Roblox Co-Founder
David Baszucki is best known as the co-founder and former CEO of Roblox, a massively popular online game platform and game creation system. He is also known by his Roblox username, "Builderman."
Baszucki co-founded the company, originally known as DynaBlocks, in 2004 with the late Erik Cassel. Roblox officially launched in 2006. His vision was to create an imaginative platform where users could not only play games but also create, share, and monetize their own immersive 3D experiences (or "experiences," as they are called on the platform).
Before Roblox, Baszucki founded Knowledge Revolution in the 1990s, a company that created educational software, including Interactive Physics (a 2D simulation program) and Working Model (a mechanical design software). After Knowledge Revolution was acquired by MSC Software in 1998, Baszucki served as a Vice President there until 2000.
He is widely recognized as a major figure in the gaming and tech industries for championing the concept of the "metaverse" and the "creator economy," long before they became mainstream terms.
