He is internationally known as the creator of the One Piece series, which he began serializing in 1997. One Piece has become the best-selling manga in history and is also one of the best-selling comic series printed in volume worldwide, with over 520 million copies in circulation globally. This success has led to Oda being named one of the artists who changed the history of manga.

Early Career: Oda decided to become a manga artist at the age of four. He was heavily influenced by Akira Toriyama's series Dragon Ball. At age 17, his work Wanted! won several awards, and he began working as an assistant for other manga artists, including Nobuhiro Watsuki on Rurouni Kenshin.

Notable Achievements: His work on One Piece has earned him recognition, including a Guinness World Record for "the most copies published for the same comic book series by a single author" (updated in 2022 with over 516 million copies). He also serves as an executive producer for the 2023 Netflix live-action adaptation of One Piece.

Personal Life: Eiichiro Oda is married to Chiaki Inaba, a former model and actress whom he met in 2002. They married in 2004 and have two children.
