Taye Diggs, born Scott Leo Diggs on January 2, 1971, is an American actor and singer. He is a multi-talented performer known for his work on Broadway, in film, and on television.
His career includes notable roles in:
Broadway Musicals: He was part of the original cast of Rent (1996) and also appeared in a Tony Award-winning revival of Carousel (1994), as well as Chicago and Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
Film: His breakthrough film role was in How Stella Got Her Groove Back (1998). Other significant film credits include The Best Man (1999) and its sequel The Best Man Holiday (2013), the movie adaptation of Rent (2005), and Chicago (2002).
Television: He is known for series regular roles such as Dr. Sam Bennett in the Grey's Anatomy spinoff Private Practice (2007–2013), Inspector Terry English in Murder in the First (2014–2016), and Billy Baker in All American (2018–2023).
