Fred Durst, born William Frederick Durst on August 20, 1970, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, actor, and filmmaker. He is best known as the frontman and lyricist of the nu metal band Limp Bizkit, which formed in 1994 and has released six studio albums.

His career is marked by his role as the vocalist for Limp Bizkit, who were pioneers of the nu metal genre in the 1990s and early 2000s. He is also a filmmaker, having directed films such as The Education of Charlie Banks (2007), The Longshots (2008), and The Fanatic (2019). Before forming Limp Bizkit, he worked as a landscaper and a tattoo artist.

Limp Bizkit is still active, performing live and releasing music, including a recent single "Making Love to Morgan Wallen" in early 2025, and they have announced plans for a Latin American tour. Durst continues to lead the creative direction for the band.
