Gong Yoo, whose birth name is Gong Ji-cheol, is a highly popular and globally recognized South Korean actor.
He is best known for his leading roles in several iconic K-dramas and films, including the romantic comedy series Coffee Prince (2007), the fantasy-romance drama Guardian: The Lonely and Great God (also known as Goblin, 2016–2017), the critically acclaimed film Silenced (2011), the successful zombie thriller movie Train to Busan (2016), and his notable cameo as the Recruiter in the Netflix series Squid Game (2021).
