Howard Stern is an American broadcaster, media personality, and comedian, often self-described as the "King of All Media" for his success beyond radio in television, film, and books. He is best known for his long-running radio show, The Howard Stern Show.
His career initially gained notoriety and massive popularity on nationally syndicated terrestrial radio from 1986 to 2005 for its provocative, raw, and often controversial "shock jock" style, which frequently led to fines from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
In 2006, Stern moved his show to SiriusXM satellite radio, a non-FCC regulated platform, which allowed for uncensored content. His show has since evolved to feature more in-depth and introspective interviews with A-list celebrities and public figures. Beyond radio, his ventures include the best-selling autobiographical book Private Parts (1993) and its 1997 film adaptation, as well as a four-season tenure as a judge on the reality TV series America's Got Talent (2012-2015).
