Idris Elba is a highly acclaimed British actor, producer, and musician.

He is widely recognized for his prominent television roles, including drug lord Stringer Bell in the HBO series The Wire (2002–2004) and the title character, DCI John Luther, in the BBC One series Luther (2010–2019), which earned him a Golden Globe Award.

In film, he is known for playing Heimdall in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Nelson Mandela in Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom (2013), and the ruthless Commandant in Beasts of No Nation (2015).

Beyond acting, Elba is an accomplished DJ who performs under the name DJ Big Driis or Idris, and has also had a music career as a rapper and singer.
