Jacob Sartorius (full name Rolf Jacob Sartorius, born October 2, 2002) is an American social media personality and singer.
He initially rose to fame by posting lip-syncing videos on the short-form video application Musical.ly (now known as TikTok). He also gained a following from his videos on Vine.
In 2016, he began releasing music. His debut single, "Sweatshirt," and his second single, "Hit or Miss," both charted on the US Billboard Hot 100 and in Canada. "Hit or Miss" is his highest-charting single to date. He has released multiple extended plays (EPs) including The Last Text (2017) and Better with You (2018), and has embarked on international tours.
Jacob Sartorius was one of the platform's largest users on Musical.ly and built a large follower count on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. In 2016, Google reported that he was the ninth-most-searched musical artist of the year. He has also pursued acting, co-starring in the film The Loneliest Boy in the World.
