James McAvoy is a Scottish actor and director, born on April 21, 1979, in Glasgow, Scotland.
He began his acting career as a teenager in 1995 with the film The Near Room and appeared mostly on television until his film career expanded around 2003.
He is widely known for his roles as Professor Charles Xavier in the X-Men film series (beginning with X-Men: First Class), and for his performances in films like Atonement, The Last King of Scotland, and M.
