Jordan Matter is an American YouTuber and photographer, born on October 6, 1966, in New York City.
He is widely known for his photography and videography centered on dance and vlogs. His YouTube channel has a very large following (over 33 million subscribers as of September 2025), with much of his recent content featuring his family, especially his daughter Salish, often in "10-Minute Photo Challenge" videos.
His photography career gained significant attention with his series "Dancers Among Us," which features professional dancers striking poses in everyday public locations. This work was published in a 2012 New York Times bestselling book of the same name, which was followed by another bestseller in 2018, Born to Dance. His photography style focuses on capturing spontaneous, intimate human moments using natural light and often avoiding photo manipulation.
He is the grandson of the notable photographer Herbert Matter. He lives in California with his wife, Lauren Matter, and they have two children, Hudson and Salish.
