Margot Robbie is an Australian actress and producer known for her versatile roles in both blockbuster and independent films.
She was born on July 2, 1990, in Dalby, Queensland, and first gained recognition in Australia for her role as Donna Freedman on the soap opera Neighbours from 2008 to 2011.
Her international breakthrough came with the role of Naomi Lapaglia in Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street (2013). She achieved widespread fame for portraying the DC Comics anti-hero Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad (2016) and reprised the role in subsequent films.
Robbie has received critical acclaim and multiple award nominations, including Academy Award nominations for her performances as Tonya Harding in the biopic I, Tonya (2017), which she also produced, and as a Fox News employee in Bombshell (2019). Most recently, she starred as the title character and produced the highly successful film Barbie (2023).
She is a co-founder of the production company LuckyChap Entertainment, which focuses on female-driven projects. She is married to British filmmaker Tom Ackerley.
