Matt Damon is an American actor, screenwriter, and producer known for his versatile roles in both independent dramas and major blockbuster films.

He gained widespread recognition after co-writing and starring in the 1997 film Good Will Hunting with his childhood friend Ben Affleck, which earned them an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay.

Damon is also famous for starring as the amnesiac assassin Jason Bourne in The Bourne film series and as con man Linus Caldwell in the Ocean's trilogy. Other notable films in his career include Saving Private Ryan, The Talented Mr. Ripley, The Departed, and The Martian (for which he won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor).
