Michael Ealy is an American actor. His birth name is Michael David Brown, and he was born on August 3, 1973, in Washington, D.C., and was raised in Silver Spring, Maryland. He graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park, with a degree in English.
He began his acting career in the late 1990s, appearing in off-Broadway stage productions. His breakout role came in the 2002 film Barbershop, where he played the character Ricky Nash, a role he reprised in the sequel Barbershop 2: Back in Business.
His other notable film roles include Slap Jack in 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003), Jake Attica in Takers (2010), Dominic in Think Like a Man (2012) and Think Like a Man Too (2014), and roles in The Perfect Guy (2015) and The Intruder (2019). He also starred as an undercover FBI agent in the TV series Sleeper Cell, which earned him a Golden Globe nomination, and played the android Dorian in the Fox television series Almost Human. He has also appeared in music videos for artists like Beyoncé and Mariah Carey.
He is married to Khatira Rafiqzada, and they have two children.
