His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, often referred to by his initials MBZ, is the President of the United Arab Emirates and the Ruler of Abu Dhabi.

Born in 1961, he is the third son of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the UAE. He graduated from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in the UK.

He served as the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi from 2004 until May 2022, when he was elected President following the death of his brother, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

He is widely seen as a driving force behind the UAE's economic diversification, investments in knowledge-based sectors, and an increasingly active role in regional and international affairs. His leadership is associated with initiatives focusing on sustainable development, education, and humanitarian aid. He is also known for his efforts to advance the UAE Armed Forces.
