Nigel Ng is a Malaysian stand-up comedian and internet personality best known for his comedic alter ego, Uncle Roger.
The Uncle Roger character is a middle-aged, often-agitated Asian uncle who speaks with a pronounced, exaggerated Cantonese accent. The character became internationally famous for YouTube videos where he humorously and critically reviews Western chefs' attempts at cooking Asian dishes, particularly egg fried rice, often resulting in the catchphrase "Haiyaa!" and "Fuiyoh!" when he is disappointed or impressed, respectively.
As a stand-up comedian, Ng's material often touches on topics of race, culture, and growing up in Malaysia. He was formerly based in the UK and has expanded the Uncle Roger brand into live tours, merchandise, and even a restaurant chain in Malaysia.
