Paige Bueckers is an American professional basketball player for the Dallas Wings of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) and for the Breeze of Unrivaled. She is a guard, listed at 6-foot (1.83 m) tall.
Bueckers played college basketball for the UConn Huskies from 2020 to 2025. She was the first freshman to be named national women's player of the year in 2021. Her college career included leading the Huskies to a National Championship title in 2025, four Big East Tournament wins, and four Final Four appearances. She holds the record for the highest scoring average in UConn history. She was the recipient of several major awards, including the 2025 Wade Trophy and the 2021 AP Player of the Year and John R. Wooden Award.
She was the first overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft by the Dallas Wings and went on to be named the WNBA Rookie of the Year in her debut season, also earning a selection to the All-WNBA Second Team. She has won three gold medals with the United States at the youth international level.
Bueckers has had to overcome significant injuries during her college career, including missing most of her sophomore season and her entire junior season with knee injuries, including a torn ACL. She has been described as a player with exceptional basketball IQ, agility, and quickness, known for her ability to score efficiently from three levels and make high-IQ passes.
