Simon Cowell is an English television personality, record executive, and entrepreneur. He is internationally famous for his role as a blunt and often controversial judge on numerous television music and talent competition shows, including Pop Idol (UK), American Idol (US), The X Factor (UK and US), and Britain's Got Talent (UK) and America's Got Talent (US). Cowell is the founder of the global entertainment company Syco Entertainment, which has been responsible for producing The Got Talent and The X Factor franchises and launching the music careers of many successful artists, most notably One Direction and Little Mix. He began his career in the music industry as a record producer, talent agent, and consultant.
