Steve Perry is an American singer and songwriter best known as the lead vocalist of the rock band Journey during their most commercially successful period, from 1977 to 1987, and again from 1995 to 1998.

He is widely recognized for his powerful, soaring tenor voice and extensive vocal range, which helped define the sound of arena rock. His expressive delivery and charismatic stage presence made him a central figure in the band's rise to international fame.

Perry co-wrote many of Journey's biggest hits, including "Don't Stop Believin'," "Open Arms," "Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)," "Faithfully," and "Any Way You Want It."

After leaving Journey, he pursued a solo career, releasing albums like Street Talk (1984), which included the hit single "Oh Sherrie." He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Journey in 2017.
