One Direction

One Direction was a British-Irish pop boy band that achieved massive global fame in the 2010s.

The group consisted of five members: Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson. They were formed on the UK singing competition show The X Factor in 2010.

Known for their catchy pop anthems, heartfelt ballads, and youthful charm, they quickly became one of the biggest acts in the world, often credited with leading a new "British Invasion" in music. Their fan base, often referred to as "Directioners," was famously dedicated.

They released five studio albums and had numerous global hit singles, including "What Makes You Beautiful," "Story of My Life," and "Drag Me Down." Zayn Malik departed the group in March 2015, and the remaining four members went on an indefinite hiatus in early 2016 to pursue solo careers.
