2 Chainz is the stage name of American rapper and actor Tauheed Epps.

He was born and raised in College Park, Georgia, and first gained recognition in the late 1990s as one-half of the Southern hip-hop duo Playaz Circle, where he initially went by the name Tity Boi. The duo was signed to Ludacris's Disturbing tha Peace label and is best known for their 2007 debut single, "Duffle Bag Boy" (featuring Lil Wayne).

In 2011, he officially changed his stage name to 2 Chainz to be more "family-friendly" and launched a highly successful solo career. His breakout year was 2012 with his debut solo album, Based on a T.R.U. Story, which hit number one on the Billboard 200 and featured platinum hits like "No Lie," "Birthday Song," and "I'm Different." He is also well-known for his numerous high-profile guest verses on tracks by artists like Kanye West ("Mercy") and Nicki Minaj ("Beez in the Trap").

2 Chainz is celebrated for his unique flow, witty punchlines, and humorous, often opulent, lyrical content, particularly within the Southern hip-hop and trap genres. He is a Grammy Award winner and has also hosted the Vice TV reality series, Most Expensivest, where he reviews luxury consumer goods.
