Joe Manganiello is an American actor, director, producer, author, and philanthropist. Born on December 28, 1976, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University.

He began his professional film career by playing Flash Thompson in Sam Raimi's 2002 movie Spider-Man and later reprised the role in Spider-Man 3. His breakout role came as the werewolf Alcide Herveaux in five seasons of the HBO series True Blood.

He is also known for his roles in films such as Magic Mike and its sequel Magic Mike XXL, Sabotage, Rampage, and as the supervillain Deathstroke in Zack Snyder's Justice League. He has also had a recurring role as Brad Morris on the TV show How I Met Your Mother.

Manganiello expanded his career into writing and directing, publishing his first book, Evolution, in 2013 and directing the documentary feature La Bare in 2014. He has been active with various charities and is a lifelong fan of Pittsburgh sports teams, even winning an Emmy Award for narrating a documentary about the Pittsburgh Penguins.

In his personal life, he was married to actress Sofía Vergara from 2015 to 2024.
