Jessica Capshaw is an American actress known for her roles in television series such as Jamie Stringer on the legal drama The Practice, Blythe Hart on 9-1-1: Nashville, and Dr. Arizona Robbins on the medical drama Grey's Anatomy.

She was born Jessica Brooke Capshaw on August 9, 1976, in Columbia, Missouri. She is the daughter of actress Kate Capshaw and Robert Capshaw. Director Steven Spielberg is her stepfather, having married her mother when Jessica was 15. She graduated from Brown University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and also studied acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London.

On Grey's Anatomy, she was initially cast for a multi-episode arc in season five as pediatric surgeon Dr. Arizona Robbins but was quickly promoted to a series regular. Her character, Dr. Robbins, was a love interest for Dr. Callie Torres. Capshaw has also had roles in films like Valentine and Minority Report. She is married to Christopher Gavigan and they have four children.
