Adam Scott is an American actor, comedian, director, screenwriter, producer, and podcaster. He is well-known for his roles as Ben Wyatt in the NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation (2010–2015) and as Mark Scout in the Apple TV+ sci-fi thriller series Severance (since 2022), for which he received Emmy nominations.
His other notable television work includes the sitcom Party Down (2009–2010; 2023) and the HBO drama series Big Little Lies (2017–2019). His film appearances include movies like Step Brothers (2008), The Aviator (2004), Knocked Up (2007), and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013).
He was born Adam Paul Scott on April 3, 1973, in Santa Cruz, California. He attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and has been married to producer Naomi Sablan Scott since 2005, and they have two children.
