Anthony Mackie is an American actor born on September 23, 1978, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is widely recognized for his role as Sam Wilson in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a part he began playing as the Falcon in Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) and later assumed the mantle of Captain America.
Mackie made his film debut in 8 Mile (2002) and went on to earn critical recognition for roles in films such as Brother to Brother (2004) and the Oscar-winning film The Hurt Locker (2008). Other notable roles include playing Tupac Shakur in Notorious (2009) and Martin Luther King Jr. in the HBO film All the Way (2016). On television, he has starred in the series Altered Carbon and Twisted Metal. He is set to continue his role as Captain America in the upcoming movie Captain America: Brave New World.
