Jeremy Renner is an American actor best known for his roles in blockbuster franchises and critically acclaimed dramas.
He is widely recognized for playing Clint Barton / Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films, starting with Thor (2011) and The Avengers (2012), and continuing through various sequels and the Disney+ series Hawkeye.
Renner has received two Academy Award nominations:
Best Actor for his starring role as bomb disposal expert Staff Sgt. William James in the 2008 war drama The Hurt Locker.
Best Supporting Actor for his performance as the volatile bank robber James "Jem" Coughlin in the 2010 crime thriller The Town.
His other notable film appearances include the Mission: Impossible series (Ghost Protocol and Rogue Nation), The Bourne Legacy, American Hustle, and Arrival. He also stars in the current television series Mayor of Kingstown.
Outside of acting, Renner is a musician and has a reality series, Rennervations, which documents his passion for repurposing decommissioned large vehicles for community use. He gained significant public attention following a severe snowplow accident in early 2023, from which he has since recovered.
