Bill Nye - Television Host

Bill Nye Age: 70 Country: United States Occupations: Television Host

Bill Nye, born William Sanford Nye, is an American science communicator, television presenter, and mechanical engineer. He is most famous for hosting the hit 1990s PBS children's science show "Bill Nye the Science Guy," where he used high-energy comedy, quirky skits, and a trademark bow tie to make science fun and accessible for a generation of kids.

Before his television fame, Nye graduated from Cornell University and worked as an engineer for Boeing, where he invented a hydraulic component still used on 747 airplanes. He eventually left corporate engineering to pursue stand-up comedy and sketch television, which ultimately led him to create his signature educational show.

Nye has remained a prominent voice in pop culture and science advocacy. He has written several bestselling books, hosted subsequent shows like Netflix's "Bill Nye Saves the World," and served for many years as the CEO of The Planetary Society, a major non-profit space interest group.
