Brooke Shields is an American actress, model, and author who began her career as a child star.

Early Career: She started modeling at a very young age, and gained significant notoriety for her leading role in the controversial 1978 film Pretty Baby, which she starred in at age 12. She continued acting and modeling in the 1980s, starring in films like The Blue Lagoon (1980) and Endless Love (1981), and was famously the face of a controversial Calvin Klein jeans campaign.

Education: She paused her career to attend Princeton University, graduating with a bachelor's degree in Romance languages.

Television and Later Career: In the 1990s, she returned to acting, starring in the successful NBC sitcom Suddenly Susan (1996–2000), for which she received two Golden Globe nominations. She has since appeared in numerous TV shows and films, including recurring roles on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Jane the Virgin, and has acted on Broadway.

Author and Advocate: As an author, she has written several books, including a candid memoir about her experience with postpartum depression, Down Came the Rain, and is an advocate for mental health awareness. She also launched a wellness and lifestyle brand, Beginning is Now.

She has been married to television writer Chris Henchy since 2001, and they have two daughters. She was previously married to tennis star Andre Agassi.
