Buzz Aldrin Age: 95 Country: United States Occupations: Atronaut

Buzz Aldrin is an American former astronaut, engineer, and fighter pilot. He is best known for being the second person to walk on the Moon on July 20, 1969, during the Apollo 11 mission, following mission commander Neil Armstrong.

A graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Aldrin served in the U.S. Air Force, flying 66 combat missions during the Korean War. He later earned a Ph.D. in Astronautics from MIT, specializing in orbital rendezvous techniques, which earned him the nickname "**Dr. Rendezvous**."

Before Apollo 11, Aldrin flew on the Gemini 12 mission in 1966, where he performed a successful spacewalk and proved that astronauts could work effectively outside a spacecraft.

Following his NASA career, Aldrin continued to be a vocal advocate for space exploration, particularly for a human mission to Mars, and has authored several books. He is the last surviving crew member of the Apollo 11 mission.
